One wonders how a shower and a toilet are connected. I had this trouble a while back and thought that there was no way to fix the problem. I later found that a bathroom bubbling when the shower is running is due to a blockage in the plumbing lines. How are the two connected? Plumbing lines are shared, therefore, when a line that leads to the shower is blocked, the toilet is also affected. This can be fixed so there is no need to worry.
How To Fix A Bubbling Toilet When The Shower Is Running
Below is a list of effective ways of dislodging a blockage in your toilet:
- Plunging: A plunger will force the blockage in a toilet. Plunge the toilet 10-20 times and flush. Repeat the process and test as the shower runs. When the sound does not disappear after trying 5 times it means that the blockage cannot be undone by a plunger. You will have to try other options.
- I was using vinegar and baking soda. Add a cup of baking soda to your toilet and wait for 10-15 minutes on average. When the time lapses, add a cup of white vinegar and wait for another 30 minutes on average. Flush the toilet. This should work. Vinegar and baking soda are highly effective in breaking down notorious blockages.
- Using dish soap and hot water. Add a piece of dish soap to your toilet. Wait for 15 minutes on average for the soap to dissolve as you boil water. When the soap dissolves pour the hot water into your toilet bowl and then flush
