Factors That Determine Watts Needed To Run A Fridge
- Fridge size. Large-size fridges require more watts to run compared to small-size fridges. Fridges that are large in size have a bigger operating system that uses more electricity to function.
- Type of fridge. There are fridge brands that consume more electric energy to function in comparison to others. Samsung brand refrigerators, for example, need more watts compared to Whirlpool refrigerators.
- Design. One-sided fridges need fewer watts to function compared to side-by-side fridges. A side-by-side fridge has more features and a larger operating system compared to one-side fridges.
- Functionality. A fridge that performs multiple functions needs more watts to run compared to fridges that are only used for cooling. A fridge with a water filter needs more watts compared to one with none.
- Fridge settings. A fridge that is set to cool food faster will use more watts compared to ones set at optimum temperature. The faster the fridge cools food, the more watts are consumed.
